YOUTH LEADER

Youth Leaders assist the Adult Session Leaders who work during the program in various ways to help the program run smoothly with the Adult and Child Guest of Remedy Ranch. The primary need from a Youth Leader is to team up with a Guest and a Horse for an hour and 30 minutes, ideally working with the same child/adult each week as a mentor and leader.  Activities range from grooming, tacking, leading the Adult or Child on the horse, and craft supervision.  This position is designed for Youth from 16 to 18 years old due to the responsibility. Many Youth Leaders will become Session Leaders as they gain the experience needed for that position.  The Youth Leader is not a paid position, it is strictly on a volunteer basis.

Youth Leaders work alongside the Session Leader during the scheduled sessions, which currently are held from March through October each year.  Currently, we are limited to how many days per week that we can offer Session Time, due to the size of our equine herd and property. Session Time is held on the first through fourth Saturday each month, with the "odd" fifth Saturday in the month as a day off for the Ranch and its staff.  There are 6 Session time slots on each Saturday, please see the attached Application with the complete schedule.

Due to our current size constraints, we are unable to accommodate any requests for other Session dates or times, as we only have 4 horses, all with different abilities to match with our Guests.  Please join us in prayer for a larger facility to use for our Ministry at Remedy Ranch.

Other positions for Youth Leaders are in our "Little Buckeroo Corral" where our guests with children too young to participate with the horses can still enjoy a session time all their own.  Some of these activities may include face painting, arts and/or craft creation, learning about horses and with parental permission, a short bible story will be explored.

The third type of position for volunteers age 13 and older is to be a Barn Worker.  We need people to work at the horse barn cleaning the stalls, providing water, etc.  Please check any/all shifts that you are willing to work.  See the application for the time slots that this position requires, as well as other Volunteer opportunities.

Thank you for considering the important position of Youth Leader / Volunteer in our Ministry.  You will be the building blocks of our organization!
